Open File Manager - What's New
Return to Knowledgebase
Since 1995, Open File ManagerT has been the leading open-file backup solution for Microsoft® Windows® and Novell® NetWare® environments. Its rich feature set helps IT professionals automate backup of open files, improve application availability and lower operating costs.
What's New? (updated: July 25 , 2007 )
Open File Manager 9.5 - January 2006
- Open File Log - Open File Manager now includes an open file logging service. This is an important enhancement because users can now see what files were open either when OFM was triggered to sync (i.e. a backup begins) or when VSS initiated a snapshot. This information provides visibility on documents that would be vulnerable using VSS without Open File Manager
- NSS Encrypted Volume Support for NetWare - The addition of Encrypted Volume Support in Netware means that if files on an encrypted volume are open during a back up, they will be successfully saved rather than skipped over
