| Knowledgebase Clearing the Open File Manager v9.1 (or later) System
Component If the 9.1 or later System Component fails to start, the following is a fail-safe procedure for getting any version of Open File Manager cleared of the 9.1 or later System Component in the event that you're unable to start the 9.1 System Component (including the new hotfix). After trying the normal uninstall procedure, check the registry for the following keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OFMFSDrv or OFMLvDrv or OpenFileManager or OFMDriver If any of these keys are there after the uninstallation, delete them and reboot the system. You can check for the keys and delete them before the first reboot to save you from having to reboot more than necessary. Once they are deleted and the system is rebooted, the 9.1 System Component should install and start unimpeded. Note: Open File Manager 9.1 or later always requires a reboot to load its driver because it is a "boot loading driver." Re-install the System Component.
