How do 'file based counters' work for NetWare?

File-based counters in the Open File Manager Status Window are active only for LFS Volumes (where Open File Manager is using a file-based method of open file management), not NSS (NetWare). The counters are:

• Total Preview Data size

  
  

• Number of files managed by Open File Manage

  
  

• Number of open files backed up

  
  

• Number of files released due to reaching the access release point

  
  

If the NetWare server is NSS Only, these file-based counters are inactive, because Open File Manager uses a volume-based method of open file management on NSS volumes.

Customers must check the backup log to confirm no skipped files to determine Open File Manager is working on NetWare servers with only NSS volumes. No information will be provided as to how many open files are actually backed up.
