| Knowledgebase Why do I get 'The serial number is invalid for this type of
platform' ? The most common reason for getting this message, besides entering the number incorrectly, is that a serial number is being applied to a system type that is not consistent with the license type. Open File Manager licenses are provided in three tiers as shown in the table below. Enterprise allows support for Clusters and NetWare, and is inclusive of Server and Workstation platforms. Server licenses apply to Server platforms only, and are not inclusive of Workstation platforms.
